Group (kafile)
A separately managed body of passengers within a departure, with its own leader.
A hundred and twenty passengers cannot be managed as one mass. They are divided into groups, each with a leader. A group is a unit of responsibility rather than of placement: coaches, hotel floors and on-the-ground communication all run through it. In Hajj organisation the structure matters even more, because coordination on the Saudi side works through the group number.

Groups are defined under a departure and passengers are assigned to them. The group number is printed on the badge — the first thing a lost passenger has in hand. Coach assignment keeps groups intact.
