Reconciliation
Two parties comparing their records of the same account and locating the difference.
An agency keeps ledger accounts with suppliers, dealers and sometimes passengers. Reconciliation is both sides comparing their own records to see whether they arrive at the same figure. When they differ the cause is usually a movement not posted, a collection entered twice, or a different exchange rate. In a multi-currency agency reconciliation is needed more often and demands more care: each currency must be compared on its own line, because a single combined total produces a number the other side cannot match against their own books.

How Reconciliation works in the system
The reconciliation letter shows each currency on its own line. Because every movement carries its own rate, when a difference appears it can be traced back to the specific movement that caused it.
